Important Zoom online meeting updates, April District 23 meeting information

Starting April 5, 2020, Zoom is updating their service with two new features: required passwords for meetings and the waiting room function. The waiting room function will be able to be turned on or off, but the passwords will be required. What this means for groups is that you will have to set a password for your meeting. For people accessing your meeting by clicking on a link, there will be no change in attending a zoom meeting. For those calling in on the phone or entering the meeting ID manually, it will require entering the password after the meeting ID.

NC23.org has maintained an updated list of all Greensboro online AA meetings found at https://nc23.org/meetings/?tsml-day=any&tsml-query=online%2Fcall-in. Please check this list to make sure that your group is listed if hosting online AA meetings. If you do not currently use a password for your meetings, or if you are starting a new online meeting in lieu of an in-person meeting please submit to the website committee your ZOOM MEETING URL WITH EMBEDDED PASSWORD (not the url for your groups website) along with your MEETING ID AND PASSWORD so that we can publish the link and info for call-in users. Groups can submit changes or new information to the “send us a note” link under the “contact us” section on NC23.org. An example link looks like https://zoom.us/j/943741005?pwd=M2xDeVdqaTJ6am9KNFhZU253aW52UT09.
